Personal message to the world:
The e-mail accounts I use for blog and other Web-related activities are presently either A. not working, or B. working with a serious lack of efficiency over the past few weeks. I swapped the contact address on my blogs over to a backup address, so if you've been trying to reach me, you might try again. Or not.
For any who bothered to cull the address from my
home site, I'm a few days off from reaching the email backlog from that account. Please stand by through my technical difficulties; I'll get back to you.

A rare moment of amiable conversation in the Kafkaesquí household...
Kafkaesquí: "We're missing the
new episode of Trading Spaces."
Family Member #1: "Did you check TV Guide to see if it's new?"
Kafkaesquí: "Um, we don't get TV Guide. But trust me."
Family Member #2: "He must have caught a promo earlier."
Kafkaesquí: "Nope. Didn't catch ads for Trading Spaces this week."
Family Member #1: "Then how do you know it's a new episode?"
Kafkaesquí: "Search engine refers for Paige Davis and Genevieve Gorder
naked just doubled on my blog."
Family Members #1 & #2: "Oh."

A local
oops. And before the vicious rumors start to hit, I was no where near it.

Another selection for your blog lit studies:
Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of the WMD's. I was always more of a Hardy Boys reader.

You may have noticed
The Blog Recorder went stale in my absence. I'll rectify that oversight in the next few weeks. Geez, I hate having priorities.

Gothic fiction and a young child's stuffed menagerie meet. At the very least, check it out just for the title.

Some notable frays in the blog fabric appeared while I was gone. Namely...

Speaking of May 1, now we get to call it
Loyalty Day.
How exactly do we celebrate? Burn a Dixie Chicks CD? Wander off to the mall and kick some anti-war protesters in the face? Send a present to Donald Rumsfeld? The options are limitless (as long as they're not un-American, of course).
[Update: Could someone be good enough to send Atrios
a tube of glue? His current supply will probably run out soon.]

Speaking of
Cinco de Mayo...
I'm not sure if what caught my eye in this piece was the idea of liquor companies appropriating a holiday (corporate wanks crushing all other interests outside their own...imagine that!), or that Latinos felt the need to set up a campaign -
Cinco de Mayo con Orgullo (Fifth of May with Pride) - to try and regain control.
Or maybe it was the mention of Corona's old '
The Drinko for Cinco' ad campaign. Nothing speaks more strongly to Mexican nationalism than a bad advertising catch phrase.

Ok, enough with this being away, silent weblog crap. It's time to renew my blogging activities. There'll be no explanations, and no further discussion of the matter*.
Besides, May 1 seems as good a time as any for a return. Especially since I'll be busy May 5. Yes, Cinco de Mayo*. I may not be Mexican, but having hispanic blood streaming through my veins allows me to officially - or at least partially officially - join in on a most appropriate celebration*.
Oh, and don't be expecting me to get all apologetic. There'll be no more of that around here*.
* Must I explain everything?
