blogged to a golden brown

After some long and serious thought I've come to a decision. And though it's a controversial stand for me to take and I'll catch a lot of flak for going public, I'm of the opinion that:

Saddam Hussein is evil

Sorry, but I tell it like I see it.

Diane over at Letter from Gotham is deep into development of a new (hopefully indie produced) film: Saving Private Lynch. The idea is no longer original by now. (I've already heard whispers of Reese Witherspoon for the role - though I agree she's not right for it. Private Clueless? Militarily Blonde? I don't think so.) Still, it's who gets a picture in the theaters first that counts.

I've already passed along my suggestion for who should play PFC Lynch. Amy's in her mid-twenties now, but I know she can pull off a corn-fed, West Virginian 19 year old.

I'm starting to feel like an agent.

It's interesting, albeit in a sad way, how near everything comes to be affected by war. Even the really fun stuff. As a snowboarder would say, it can make you to totally sketch the landing.

I was gone, in more ways than one, but now I'm back.

Um, woohoo.

I'll just explain by saying I had a breakdown of sorts, a sapping of intellectual energy, which primarily caused a lack of Net activity on my part. Hence blog, e-mail and a few other online endeavors laid dormant for much of the past few weeks. Apologies to anyone affected by this. For the rest, untouched and unconcerned: so it goes.

Also, note that any scrabblings of mine located on third-party sites during this lapse were mere attempts at therapy, nothing more, and any depth or clarity they might project is purely accidental.

Some things I missed commenting on while productively straight-jacketed:Speaking of war coverage, seems Geraldo Rivera no longer is. If you knew me well, you'd also know how much enjoyment this provides. Could explain my recuperation.

[Update: Yeah, some self-absorption in this post. To believe anyone cares for the reasons I haven't posted merely highlights my huge ego. Think I didn't know this? Sorry, kid. And screw you.]
